Weight comes first for Vertigo — heavy, distorted, and full-on most of the time. But the heavy parts need room to land, so the songs let the slower moments pull back and settle before building up again. The name fits too: vertigo is that dizzy, off-balance feeling, and that's what the band is going for — in the songwriting and in the noise itself.

The songs don't stick to one topic. The debut album follows a pretty messed-up love story start to finish, and disorientation shows up elsewhere too — just not as the only theme. The noise isn't saved up for when a song has "earned" it either; it runs through a lot more of the music than that, because that dizzy, overwhelming pull is just part of what vertigo means.

Based in Bern. Vertigo started as a cover band through school, playing whatever got a room moving. Somewhere along the way that turned into writing original songs, and the band settled into what it is now — alternative rock and metal that moves between soft, atmospheric stretches and heavier, screamed-out sections, depending on what the song needs.
